The weatherman said the temperature was going to be in the 90′s; we were all hoping they are mispredicting. The morning started out nice and cool, we thought maybe we lucked out. So we headed off. It took us about 2 hours driving through the winding Texas Hill Country to get to our destination. As soon as we got out of the car, we knew it was going to be grueling. It was already 90 some degrees and it wasn’t even noon yet. Before we begin everyone had a sandwich to fill up and prepare for the long haul. We’ve been planning this for several weeks…there is no turning back…
It was good!
And we are off!
Rocks everywhere!

It was nice to have a professional documenting our trip. Thanks Efro! I was lazy, so I used my point-and-shoot![]()

The Enchanted Rock!
I don’t think Van had enough for lunch…
Eric and Alice!

These prickly little guys were all over the place. We had to watch every step we took.
This is the most difficult but the funnest part of the hike. The incline is about 45 degrees…there were really no marked trails. Nobody got hurt…so good job everybody!!
Go Rita!!

The weatherman mispredicted alright… We kept thinking 90 some degrees shouldn’t feel so hot like that. We found out why after we went back to the car.
We continued our tradition. Every time after our Enchanted Rock hike we’ve always gone to Buffet Palace for dinner because we know we would eat a lot! MMMMM…
They went back several times for more watermelons and pineapple cuz they tasted so good!
Finally, here is a group picture of everybody on the Rock…well…sort of. Efro was taking the group picture, so I took one of the pictures I shot of him and pasted it on. LOL!!
Thanks everybody for coming! It was really fun! Even though summer came early just for one day, I still enjoyed it. We will definitely keep going back there…but maybe when it’s in the 70′s
