Penny for penny

Whoever came up with the idea of putting coins inside a piggy’s belly is a genius! What a fun way to save some extra dough right? Alice and I have 3 piggy banks in the house, whenever we get coins they always end up in one of the banks. After about 8 years the piggies are finally overflowing! For the last few days we have been thinking about exchanging all the coins into something more useful, like cold cash or some certificate, mainly because there is just no more room to store extra coins.

Can you guess which one is mine and which one is Alice’s? Pretty easy question…:)

There was a Coinstar machine at the HEB near our house. So we took our coins there and started dumping all the coins in the machine. If you choose to get cash, they charge you an outrageous 8.9%!!! So, we went with an Amazon gift certificate, because then you get to use the machine for FREE! It was like we had won the jackpot on a slot machine! The coins just kept dropping and dropping…it was awesome! Before going to the machine Alice and I had a bet. She thinks we had $65 dollars, but I said we only had $50. Take a guess then look at the picture below:)We weren’t even close…

$115.98…not bad huh? Now we get to start all over again. I wonder how long it will take us until they are full again…

Alice & Eric Yeh - Yea…Efro has a weird coin phobia disorder. He doesn’t like to keep them so he hands them to me. So yup, he contributed too the piggies too.
