08/08/08 is probably the most popular day to get married. I heard during Olympic broadcasting saying that in Beijing alone, there were 60,000 couple registered for their marriage license. That’s understandable because “8″ in Chinese sounds like the word “To be prosperous”. Three times that means you are destined to be filthy rich. This isn’t just happening in China though. The Knot recorded that they have 4 times more people registered for the 08/08/08 wedding than any other Fridays in August.
Cathy and Brad had their wedding on 08/09/08. “9″ in Chinese also sounds like the word “a long time”. To me, they have chosen an even better date. I think we can all agree that it’s better to be rich for a long time than to be just filthy rich (and not knowing when the good fortune stops coming
Anyway, that’s just my crazy opinion.
Cathy and Brad had a conventional ceremony, but the reception was very unusual. Take a look at the pictures and slideshow and you’ll see. We want to thank everybody for making it such a fun wedding. It was very unique, not to mention the couple, their family and friends were great to work with!
The morning after the wedding Cathy and Brad went straight to their honeymoon. I am sure they are lying on the beach right now and enjoying the gorgeous scenery and perfect weather in Jamaica! Knowing Cathy though, she is probably still stalking our blog every chance she gets even if she is on her honeymoon
Enjoy the pictures!
