Random Pics from Taiwan

Well…it’s time to leave my home again. During the wee hours of tomorrow morning we will need to wake up and get ready to ride the high-speed rail to the international airport. I am feeling sad leaving my parents cuz it’s not often I get to come visit them. It’s not like I can hop on the plane to come visit them just for a weekend. I wish there was an easier way going across the globe.

On the other hand, I miss all the fun we have at weddings! I am excited to be back. We don’t have to wait long at all…our next wedding is on Valentine’s Day!:)

Before we leave, I want to put up a few more pictures of Taiwan. These are just some random pictures we shot throughout our short vacation. Enjoy!!

We can’t get enough of that herbal jelly cream! We can get them in Houston, but they are just not as good…

The crowd at a busy night market.

It was fun trying to navigate through the crowd to get to the food stands! You probably noticed by now that Taiwanese people are all about the food??

Japanese Ramen bigger than Alice’s face:D

We visited an old temple near the night market. According to the Chinese tradition, at the very beginning of a new year, when there is a bright full moon hanging in the sky, there should be thousands of colorful lanterns hung out for people to appreciate. This is the year of Ox so — an ox lantern!

More lanterns with new year blessings.

Back to night market:
It is very hard to pick from all these tasty food stands. Everything look so good that we want to try it all!

Heh heh…can you guess what this thing is?

Call me crazy, but I tried it and loved it! It tastes better than shrimp, I swear!!

My cousin is the master chef and co-owner of this incredible restaurant.

The name is Chateau in the Air

The other co-owner is an artist. He makes artwork out of scrap metal and stones around the restaurant!

Super Eric Brothers!

Another piece of art work: Children’s table and chairs.

What an awesome place to enjoy 5-star quality food!

View during twilight.

The best quesadilla ever! It has cheese and squid wrapped with a thin crisp tortilla… drool…

Steak with shitake mushroom + broccoli and baked yam on the side.
My pictures don’t do justice of how great my cousin’s cooking is. I was in heaven!!

Yummy squid at the night market!

My favorite – Stinky Tofu!! It’s stinks so bad to the point that it is irresistible!!

More good stuff! Another one of the popular stands at this night market. They only sell what you see here, small biscuit wrapped with big biscuit. Some of the flavors are peanut, taro, sesame, pepper, and red bean!

Can you tell how bored I was when Alice was shopping?? HAHAHA! She did a lot of it too…my poor legs.

My parents walking through a beautiful bamboo forest.

Bye bye Taiwan, we’ll be back!
