I didn’t mention this in the previous blog. The first day we arrived in Paris was actually the 10 year anniversary of when Alice and I started dating! 10 years is no small deal, so we needed something nice to celebrate this special day. I don’t think there are many things out there that can beat an amazing vacation in Paris![]()
Our agenda for day 3 was Chateau de Versailles. But first, we needed to take care of our stomachs.

Outdoor sitting next to Seine and The Louvre, very nice! Thanks to the lovely couple next to us who offered to take pictures for us.

Fat Mona Lisa!! Saw this on our way to the train station…too cute!

After about 30 minutes on the train, here we are, King Louis XIV’s magnificent home.

He built a chapel for himself…

Garden view from King Louis XIV’s rooms.

The famous Hall of Mirrors.

Queen’s bed.

He also had his own art gallery.

…and a few hallways full of sculptures.

This is how we got around Paris most of the time.

After we got back from the palace, we wanted to see the Eiffel Tower up close for the first time. After walking around all day at the palace, we were hungry again. For some reason we felt like having Japanese food, and we were able to find one on google map. We walked all the way from Eiffel Tower to the maroon tower.

It took about 25 minutes to get there. We almost fainted after seeing the menu. 18 euros for a bow of soup with several strands of noodles, 34 euros for a dinky little plate of teriyaki steak. A bow of rice doesn’t come with the meal, it’s 8 euros extra!!! What the heck? And worst of all, it didn’t even taste all that good. The steak was chewy and the noodle soup was just blah. Our neighborhood Japanese restaurant can kick their butt any day at less than half the price. Oh well…I guess that’s what happens when you are a tourist…HAHA!

Getting this shot of The Eiffel Tower afterwards was very therapeutic, otherwise I’d still be thinking about that 60 euro non-dinner for the rest of the night…HAHAA!

Day 4, we started out by hunting for Dalloyau for their famous Macarons!

We also visited the Pantheon. Looks a lot like Capitol Hill!

I have no idea…but we saw empty beer bottles next to the statue.

Looking the map, again! Did I mention the streets were very confusing?

Can you believe this is a hospital?

Sainte Chapelle

Amazing details!

Palais Garnier, also known as the Opera de Paris

We think this hall is better than Hall of Mirror in Chateau de Versailles, and the best part is there aren’t that many people!

Maybe a tourist trap, but at least it was a good one. The food was pretty good and the service was excellent!

Duck liver pate, yum!

Took a stroll on The City Island waiting for the sun to set.

The Conciergerie at sunset. Awesome! It used to be a royal palace and prison.

Last part of the vacation is up next, be sure to check back! Feel free to contact us with any questions.
