Wow…this blog took way longer than I expected to be posted. Can’t believe so many things came up in between; meetings, The Knot Party, bridal portraits, engagement portraits, baby portraits…you name it. Looks like the busy season is just around the corner! Anyways, here is the last part of our pictures from Paris:
After spending 4 nights in our super cool hotel, we moved to another part of Paris. The new hotel is nothing out of the ordinary, however it was only a 5-minute walk to Arc de Triomphe and of course the famous Champs-Elysees Boulevard!
The only way up was through these dizzying spiral stairs.
But the view was spectacular! It would’ve been perfect if there wasn’t so much clouds.
Yup, Paris actually has a modern-looking downtown![]()
The opposite side is Champs-Elysees Boulevard and The Louvre. You can also see Notre-Dame just a little behind The Louvre.
Just right down the street, we saw the mother of all Louis Vuittons!
It’s a like a amusement ride at a theme park, HAHA! Alice is in there somewhere…
Later on that day we visited the Army Museum at Les Invalides.
It also houses the Tomb of Napoleon.
That’s how some people got their heads blown off…ha!
This is awesome. Huge tomb for a little guy.
Amazing artwork under the dome over the tomb.
Around dinner time, we met up with my high school ESL buddies Nathalie and Cecile. Can’t believe it has been 15 years since we last saw each other! Thanks to Facebook that we are all able to keep in touch. That cute little girl is Nathalie’s baby, Blandine.
Nathalie and Cecile took us to a nearby restaurant for some real French food.
I knew French food is good, but I didn’t know it was this good! I have to say that is the best piece of duck I have ever tasted, it literally melts inside your mouth. According to Alice, our chocolate expert, that is the best piece of chocolate cake ever too. Catching up with old friends over an amazing meal, it couldn’t get any better. What a way to end the day!
Next morning we went to this place. Looks like a pretty cool place from the street sign right?
It’s actually a cemetery! One of the most famous in the world according to Wikipedia.
A bunch of famous people were buried here.
Another cool place to visit, The Galeries Lafayette. It’s a department store…hard to tell from all the beautiful architectures.
In case you haven’t noticed, Paris has a museum or some kind of art expo in just about in every corner. This is inside the department store. Not sure what they were trying to convey…
This is Isabelle, another one of my ESL buddies from wayyy back. We used to practice violin and piano together!
She took us to a Japanese restaurant. Soba with duck, only in Paris!
After dinner, we took a nice walk and chatted a little more. Not sure how long we walked but we ended up here with a nice view of Arc de Triomphe down Champs-Elysees!
Looks even cooler at nightfall!
All good things come to an end. This is our last day in Paris, so we decided to see and do as many things as we can. Our first stop was the Château of Vincennes.
The Chateau doesn’t look big from the outside, but it is HUGE when you put tiny Alice next to its walls!
We stopped by hotel de ville. Mayor of Paris works in there…how nice![]()
“Beach” along Seine River. Only in Paris!
We also had some awesome crepes, thanks to Nathalie’s recommendations!
Visited more museums! Why are the heads chopped off? Anyone knows?
Last look at the beautiful Notre-Dame.
Entrance of the subway.
The picture on the right is also an entrance to the subway!
The Louvre again because we missed an entire section.
OMG…so much details…
Napolean’s dining room.
Napolean’s living room. He definitely knows how to splurge!
To end it with a bang, one last look at Eiffel Tower.
OK, a few looks…
Well, that’s all folks! We will see you next year Europe![]()
