Houston Zoo Lights with Lauren

Last year we didn’t take Lauren out to see any Christmas lights, since we figured she was so young she wouldn’t care much for it. Now she is 19 months old and understands a lot of things, so we decided to take her to check out the Houston Zoo Lights. She was super excited! It was so beautiful even the grown-ups had a good time!

Lauren’s favorite person in the world, Nanny Amy, came with us too!

I can’t believe it has been 5 months since we posted pictures of Lauren on the blog. Since our last post, her vocabulary has at least tripled, she is now walking, and her hair has gotten a lot longer! I thought we were busy before Lauren came to our lives, now I truly know the meaning of “busy”. So people, if you are bored with your life, have a baby! This past weekend we took Lauren to Dewberry Farm for the first time. There were pumpkin patch, hay mountain, flower garden, corn maze, cow train, pig races, and other fun stuff. It was all great, but the best part was having her play together with all the other kids. I have never seen her having so much fun! Although it was very exhausting chasing Lauren around, seeing her smiles and laughter made it all worth it!

I think somebody likes Lauren! She was playing hard to get though, haha!

This is awesome! All the moms put her baby down and ran in attempt to get a group picture of the babies. My stomach is still hurting from all the laughing.

Baby Lauren’s 1st Birthday

It’s hard to believe that our little girl is one year old! We wanted to do something special for her first birthday, so we made an art piece for her. It took us over a week to put it together, along with numerous trips to the arts and craft stores. We are glad that it worked perfectly as the backdrop for her birthday photo shoot. We also got her a little strawberry cake hoping she would trash it and get really messy for some fun photos. I think somehow she knew these pictures were going online, so she kept it really lady like. Funny girl

Spring is finally here and the weather has been amazing lately. The grass is luscious and the wild flowers are blooming everywhere; it’s the perfect time to get some nice photos for our precious baby Lauren. It took us over three hours on three different days plus many many outfit changes to get these pictures. It was hard work for both Lauren and us, but it was worth all the effort. They turned out so darn cute!!! Taking these pictures reminded us of why we fell in love with photography in the first place. There are not too many things in this world that can compare to the joy of getting one beautiful and special moment in time captured forever on an image. I am sure Lauren will appreciate these beautiful images when she grows up!

Taiwan Vacation with Baby Lauren

We’ve been shooting weddings and working nonstop as soon as we got back from our vacation in Taiwan, so we never got a chance to post these vacation pictures. If you have known us or followed our blog for a while, you know that every time we go to Taiwan we will have a ton of food pictures. Well, this time it is totally different. Yes, there is still food involved, but it’s all about Lauren’s little adventures in Taiwan. In case you haven’t noticed, we are a bit baby crazy now. Besides, baby pictures are so much cuter than food pictures right?

Note: all these pictures were taken with our Panasonic LX5. Not too bad for a tiny little point-and-shoot!

Baby’s first flight, she looked excited Thanks to our good friend Efro for taking this. Just by luck, we happened to take the same flight home.

Yes baby, Baba understand. Baba wouldn’t want to sleep in that either.

Lauren’s great-grandpa was very very happy to see her for the first time; he gave her a huge Red Envelope! It is a very old Chinese custom for a new baby to receive Red Envelopes. She actually got enough Red Envelope from all my uncles, aunts and cousins to pay for all our flights!!

My dad is preparing for his retirement so he picked up the saxophone as a new hobby. Lauren seemed very interested, she probably wanted to taste it.

My mom started learning keyboard so she and my dad can play together. They can be street musicians when they retire! That’s me messing with the keyboard. I guess it didn’t sound too bad because I managed to put Lauren to sleep. HAHA!

Love the bamboo background. Love my two beautiful ladies even more!

Yup, believe it, it’s a toilet-themed restaurant. The pooh-shaped overhead lights are awesome!!

Seats are made of toilets and tables are made of bathtubs and sinks.

Hot pot in a “toilet bowl” and spaghetti in a “sink”, yummy!!!

Apparently you can put toilet and food together. It’s “Delicious & happy!”

That was one of the best mochi we’ve ever had. Baby wanted to try them too!

We rode in the taxi a lot!

Took the train a few times too.

Taiwan is also known as The Fruit Kingdom. These pears are bigger than baby’s head!!

Luckily we had an empty seat next to us on the way back. That’s one exhausted baby!! Can’t wait for our next adventure with her

First Halloween Costume and Pumpkin Patch Experience

In the month of October, we had the pleasure of photographing many many beautiful weddings and gorgeous couples. It kept us super busy!! No complaints! The only downside to that is we didn’t get to spend enough time with Lauren and therefore not enough pictures of her was taken. After last Saturday’s wedding, our busy month came to an end and we were able to relax a little bit. Yesterday, we finally took her to a pumpkin patch at a local church for her very first Halloween photoshoot. It was our last chance too because they were starting to haul away the pumpkins when we got there! Good thing we still had enough pumpkins left and got some cutest pictures of baby Lauren ever!
