As always, we eat like there is no tomorrow when we have family gatherings. I think I am gonna feel full for the next week. It’s so hard to get back to work when I am still trying to fight off that food coma. However, I managed to put up the second part of Puja and Rahul’s amazing Indian wedding ceremony and reception held at the St Regis Hotel in Houston. If you missed part one, just scroll down :)

Even so, all the different ceremonies and rituals were spread out over three days! Because of logistics and to save time, they even performed the ceremonies together instead of in the respective homes. During the first day, they had the Ghari Puja Prayer for the pre-wedding ceremony. Later that day, everybody had their hand painted with beautiful Henna artwork during the Mehndi ceremony. The next day, Puja and Rahul had the cleansing (Pithi or Haldi) Ceremony. The wedding day is of course the biggest day. How big? To give you an idea, the groom rode an elephant during the Indian wedding parade on his way to St Regis Hotel for the ceremony and reception. That’s is definitely something you don’t see every day! And we’ll let the pictures tell the rest of the story :)

Did you know that as long as the Henna tattoo is still visible, the bride doesn’t have to do any housework? I’d probably never wash my hands…HAHA!

The bride and groom got ready at Omni Hotel near The Galleria, then took a fancy limo ride over to Courtyard on St James Place for their reception. We had the pleasure of working with Cecile with Simply Perfect again. We had a great time as always!
